Powerboats 2025
Once again Wyndham Harbour Marina is pleased to be hosting round 2 of the Australian Offshore Powerboat Championships on the weekend of February 22nd & 23rd. A big weekend is planned for these power machines when they join us for their races. They will be utilizing our ramp and hardstand as well as the visitor marina berths. Also be mindful of their race course when out on the water not that they are hard to miss.
Accreditations
Last October we underwent our Gold Anchor Accreditation audit and were very pleased to be able to maintain our Five Gold Anchor rating.
Three weeks after Gold Anchor we were audited for our International Clean Marinas environmental audit and we were able to maintain our level 3 status with flying colours. This environmental accreditation is highly sought after by marinas worldwide to demonstrate to authorities and the community in general the efforts we go to in order to keep the environment we spend so much time enjoying in pristine condition. It is a well established fact that boat owners do not like dirty water and accordingly do everything they can to keep it clean.
In recent days we received the accreditation of a Sustainable Tourism Business.
Mini Globe Race
February 23rd will see the start of the Mini Globe Race with our old friend Eric Marsh on board Sunbear 79 competing.
You can follow Eric’s progress on www.minigloberace.com/programme/. An amazing feat to race around the world in a 5.80 metre yacht.
Marina Noticeboard
Gates
We have had some strange people enter the Marina and the Maintenance Yard lately. It is important that we remember to shut the gate after entering or departing and be aware not to let others follow us in. We do live in a society where some see it is their absolute right to do as they wish be it against what laws we think we have or not.
Marina Etiquette
It is always enjoyable to witness the Comradeship between Boat owners in a marina however sometimes we can loose the importance of “Marina Etiquette” and put pressures on that Comradeship. As well as being here to enjoy our boats and being on the water we are also here to respect and enjoy the company of other boat owners at the same time.
